There are dozens of ways to make a taco salad and they are all good! This is the version that I most often make, give or take some ingredients. I always have lettuce, Doritos, hamburger, cheddar, and Catalina salad dressing. Anything after that is just extra goodness!
Taco salad is super fast to put together for dinner. As you’ll see on the directions for this recipe, I didn’t put quantities for any ingredient. It’s all customized to how big you want your salad and your taste preferences. If you don’t have Doritos, you can use regular or barbeque Fritos. If you wanted to go meatless, do it. Just add lots of good veggies. There are all kinds of optional ingredients that are yummy add-ins.
- Ice-burg lettuce, chopped in bite size pieces
- Hamburger, cooked & drained
- Nacho Cheese Doritos, crushed
- Kidney beans
- Cheddar cheese, shredded
- Tomatoes, chopped
- Catalina Salad Dressing
- Optional Ingredients: black olives, onions, sour cream, salsa
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl to serve or in individual bowls.
Drizzle with salad dressing.
