Snickers are one of my absolute favorite candy bars! When my friend Lori shared this dip recipe, I knew I would have to try it. She told me that she loved dipping pretzels into it for a sweet & salty flavor combination. I liked that, but I discovered that I LOVED dipping graham crackers into it! So good!
For serving, I decorated it with the pretzels and decided the top needed a little something to make it look pretty, so I shaved a couple of Hershey Kisses onto it. (Really now, can you really have too much chocolate?) YUM! I took it to our retreat for the ladies at church this weekend. From the looks of the serving bowl, I’d call it a success!
Snickers Dip
Ingredients:
- 2 (8 ounce) packages of cream cheese, softened
- 1 (8 ounce) Cool Whip
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 6 Snickers bars, chopped
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together.
Chill overnight to better blend the flavors.
Serve with pretzels or graham crackers.

THIS LOOKS GOOD! SINCE TOBY IS ALLERGIC TO PEANUTS, WONDER HOW A MILKYWAY WOULD TASTE INSTEAD OF SNICKERS? LOVE THIS BLOG, GREAT IDEAS! WE MISS YOUR WONDERFUL TREATS!!
So glad you like the blog! I’m sure you could use Milky Way or any other candy bar that you like in this. Also, I don’t think you can get too many candy bars in it. It was yummy!
I used this same recipe without the candy bars and dipped granny smith apples. Yum!
So, then not the same recipe is what you are really saying.
It might not be the same, but I’d bet it would be delicious!
i added 3T of caramel sundae topping to make it easier to scoop…this is a fabulous dip!
My daughter made this with milky way, since i do not like snickers. Just for the record – absolutely YUMMY! Also good on ritz crackers!
I hadn’t thought about Ritz. I’m sure that’s great!
I think I would make it with Milky Way too. What size candy bars do you use ?
I can’t remember if they’re called snack size or fun size. They’re not the tiny ones, but the ones that are a couple of inches long. Hope that makes sense!
I’ve made a similar one with Heath bars instead of Snickers and it was Fantastic!
OMG, Heath bars would be INCREDIBLE!!! Heath Bars AND Ritz…oooooo
I make something similar but I buy the heath toffee chips to use. (Can find them with the chocolate chips) They are already little pieces and are perfect for this!
I made it with twix bars and it turned out GREAT!

Would this fit in a pie pan?
Yes, it would. I made mine in a 9 inch pie dish!
Is that shaved chocolate on top? Did you use regular size candy bars or snack size? And did you chop then course or fine (like in a food processor)? Thanks!
The original recipe calls for 6 candy bars which I assumed was regular size. I bought a small bag of snack size to use because it was cheaper. I used all but one snack size (had to eat one)! Either type is fine and I don’t think you can have too many
I was going to do the food processor, but I was in a hurry and couldn’t find the inner piece (kids had unloaded the dishwasher & misplaced it). I did a rough chop with a knife. It looked a little dull when I put it in the dish, so I found a couple of Hershey kisses and shaved them on top. Anything chocolate would work just fine.
I tried this at the Ladies Retreat and it was delicious! I was going to ask for the recipe so I’m glad you have it on here. Definitely going to try it!
This looks really delecious! I miss graham crackers. I can’t get them in South Africa. I found this through Pinterest and I’m going to start following your blog. By the way, I’m a mom of four. Hope to link up! Blessings, Tina
Do you have to freeze it? Or would freezing it for an hour due?
I don’t think I would freeze it at all, just refrigerate it to blend the flavors.
What about using it as a fruit dip? Apples maybe, for a slightly healthier option.
I’m sure you could.
I had no idea it was that easy! It looks FABULOUS. I’ll be making it this weekend. Found you on Pinterest, thanks for the yummy recipe!
Thanks Erika! Hope you love the recipe!
Amazing…it makes a ton too! I made it for my small group and had an extra container which I took to work. Everyone who tried it love it! Thanks for the idea!
You are so welcome. Glad it turned out so well for you!
So i have a recipe similar to this, but you add tart green apples. I bet it would be a yummy substitute for the pretzels. Sooo, would this make it a ‘healthy snack’?
what size snickers bars
saw the answer above, thanks
to serve 10 at a get together where there will be multiple desserts would half this recipe work?
I’m sure you can do that if you wish.
YUM!!!

I bet this could be tinted for baby showers, birthdays or holidays….I wonder how it would be with chopped maraschino cherries…or maraschino cherry syrup….mmmm
How small would you chop the snickers???
I chopped them as finely as I could with a knife. I didn’t want to pulse them in a food processor, so they were a just small chunks.
Yummy!
I just made a spinoff of this including 1 box of Oreos, 1 8oz regular cream cheese, 1 8oz of dark chocolate cream cheese, and 2 containers of cool whip. I crushed the Oreos in a gallon bag then added the cream cheese one at a time. After, I cut the corner of the bag and slowly mixed it in with the cool whip. I put it in the freezer and it’s delicious! I really loved the snickers dip when I made it a few months ago and since I was craving chocolate and Oreos, I changed it up a bit!
Yum! Sounds great!
that’s not a spin off of the dip recipe, It’s an entirely different recipe. Sounds good tho
Just made this tonight for Bunco tomorrow! Considering making it for my grandpa’s 90th birthday, too!!! Thanks for sharing the recipe!
You are welcome! I hope your Bunco group enjoyed it!
My husband loves Snickers concretes, so i am making this for his 30th Surprise Birthday Party this weekend. I think he’s gonna love it!
YUM! I just made this with heath bars instead. I blogged about you! Thanks for the great idea!!
http://messyjofu.blogspot.com/2012/06/ill-take-6-heath-bars-please.html#
whats cool whip????
Cool Whip is a brand name for a non-dairy whipped topping that you get in the frozen food section. I would think that any whipped cream could work in the recipe.
I can’t wait to make this- I bought the ingredients tonight and am making it to share at the 4th of July picnic at the cabin!
How long will this keep (assuming we don’t eat it in one sitting!)?
I really don’t know. It is usually gone right away because I take it to a group event.
I found this on Pinterst and made it for the pool party we had yestery for the 4th of July. It was a huge hit. Yummy and delicious.
Thank you for the new favorite treat
I just saw this on Pinterest, and am going to make it for my boys birthday party tommorow!!! Can’t wait to try it!!!!
Just seen this on pinterest and my daughter wants to make for an entry in our county fair…so my question is how long can this sit out during the day?
I’m not sure. I wouldn’t want to leave it out long. I think the heat would melt the chocolate, change the consistency of the Cool Whip, and possibly make the cream cheese unsafe. It would probably be OK if it could be left on ice.
I found this on pinterest I’m gonna make it for a baby shower this weekend thank you for the recipe
Cannot wait to make this!! Absolutely love Snickers…hehe
This may sound like a silly request but does anyone have or know how to figure nutritional info for this recipe? I’m counting calories so I’m allowing myself occasional treats and would love to know how much I could allow myself without going overboard. The rest of the family can go hogwild on the rest of it!
Count it by adding up all ingredients by the quantity you used, then divide by what a “serving” was for you. Like if a batch totals 4 cups, and you eat 1/2 cup with 20 pretzels… then total and divide by 8.
I found this on Pinterest as well. I’m going to be making it with York Peppermint Patty instead of Snickers. Can’t wait!
I too found this recipe on pinterest (how’d we ever survive before it??). I just made it for a Thirty-One party I am hosting tomorrow. Even before the favors have had to fully combine, it tastes amazing! I’m serving it with pretzels and apple slices.
I think you can find the calorie count on each ingredient, add them all together and divide by serving size (whatever size that is).
I just made this with Reese’s peanut butter cups. Since I saw somewhere that a bag of fun sized were used (of Snickers), I figured you could use any candy of the same weight. My peanut butter loving friends will rejoice! It’s YUMMY!
Just made this. Taking it to a baby shower tomorrow. I put my snickers in the magic bullet and made it super fine, mixed all the ingredients with my beaters. It seems pretty yummy to me. Hopefully it will be a hit tomorrow!
So did you say you used a whole bag of fun sized Snickers (like the bags you buy for Halloween) or a bag of the mini snack size?
I used the fun size. More Snickers is always better!
So I wanna make this but its only gonna be me and my boyfriend how much would I make?
You can half or quarter the ingredients, but you still might get more than you want. For me, it is more of a recipe to feed a crowd.
just made this seconds ago.. said to my 12 year old daughter and friend.. here try this.. and i said well.. they said we will let u know if we like it when we are done licking the bowl…i think its a hit!..lol
Found you on Pintrest, This dip is amazing! I added a 1/2 cup of hershey’s caramel sauce to mine! It was a hit and I am making it for the 2nd time this month!
Oh thi is soooooooooo delish.. and easy. Our daughter made this for Thanksgivng and it was awesome. I will try making it with Milky Ways also.. or Butterfingers so many possibilitys.. thanks.
Barb says, I found you on Pinterest and this would be Yummy served with apples too! Thank you for posting this recipe! Thanks again!
Just found this and am making it for a family Christmas party this weekend.
WINNER!!!!! thanks to all those who helped create and share this fun recipe.
I’m hoping the flavor changes from the very obvious cream cheese flavor that it has this evening after mixing this up to a snickers flavor for the party tomorrow evening. can’t wait to taste it tomorrow!
I hope so, too. In my opinion, you can’t have too many Snickers in it. If it still tastes too much like cream cheese, you can always add more candy!
I don’t like cream cheese so anytime I make something like this I add a little (maybe 1/2 cup) of powdered sugar and that will really cut the cream cheese overpowering the flavors.
Taking to our family Christmas get-together tomorrow…Snickers already chopped, cream cheese softening and whipped topping thawing…can’t wait to try it! Thanks!
It keeps for several weeks in the fridge if you just take out as much as you are going to use and leave the rest refrigerated.
Fantastic!!!!
This was delicious, but it made a HUGE amount. I took it to work and my team of 10 people hardly put a dent into it. If its for a small get together, I’d recommend halving the recipe. And another tip – I thought freezing the Snickers bars would make them easier to chop up….BIG mistake.
Do you use lite or dark brown sugar
I always use light brown.
I’m making this for a bridal shower of about 32. Should I double the recipe? How many cups does this recipe make?
Does anyone know what an Australian equivalent is for the Cool Whip? As far as I know we don’t have Cool Whip
if allergic to nuts i woyuld use a mars bar closest one to snickers but no nuts
What is Cool Whip? Is it cream?
Cool Whip is a non-dairy whipped topping found in the freezer section of the stores. You could use whipped cream if you don’t have it.
