Sloppy Joes

If you are reading this post, let me just say that if your family likes Sloppy Joes or Mexican hamburgers (as they call it in Kentucky), you will LOVE these!  Don’t let me hear that you’re serving Man-wich from the can.  Yuck!  This is the real deal!  They’re easy to make and they don’t take much time to throw together.

I fixed these last Sunday night after church for my crew.  My husband always has to have Fritos Scoops to go with his sandwich.  I also made a creamy coleslaw which I thought was a perfect side!  I usually make 1-1/2 to 2 times this recipe for my family.  No one here is skimpy with how much meat goes on their bun!

Sloppy Joes

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons mustard
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Directions:

Saute beef and onion in large skillet, and drain.

Add all other ingredients and simmer 15-30 minutes.

Serve on sandwich buns.
