Oreo Truffles

My first experience with the Oreo Truffle was while teaching in Kentucky.  Our PTA president made these one time as a treat for all the teachers at a luncheon.  Everyone wanted the recipe from her.  I was shocked to find out that these delicious little candies only had a total of 3 ingredients!  They are so good, so easy, and so difficult looking!  Keep in mind, that I am NOT an expert candy dipper.  Some of mine look very pretty, but as these pictures show I have some that are a little sloppy looking.  No matter how they look, your family & guests will LOVE them!

Ingredients:

  • 1 package Oreo cookies
  • 1 8-ounce packages cream cheese, softened
  • Good quality chocolate for dipping (may be white or dark)

Directions:

Crush Oreo cookies into crumbs.  (I like a food processor for this).

Thoroughly mix cookies with cream cheese.

Form into balls (about 1 inch diameter).

Chill or freeze balls until very firm.

Melt dipping chocolate in microwave.

Dip cookie balls into chocolate.

To make decorative, I like to dip a whisk into an opposite color chocolate and drizzle over each truffle.
