Mint Chocolate Chip Milkshake

My blender has been getting a lot of use lately between morning smoothies,creamy soups, and now add to that desserts. We shared one of these a couple of weeks ago while curled up watching March Madness. (Ahem, way to go KY!) It was cold and thick and creamy… everything you want a milkshake to be. (And because it contains mint and chocolate, that means it is very specifically everything I want in a milkshake.)

I do apologize for the sub-par photos this time. The problem with making anything in the evening is the absence of natural light. (Not to mention our eagerness to get on with dessert and ballgame.)  You’ll just have to trust me on this one: it’s really good!



Mint Chocolate Chip Milkshake


  • ¾ cup skim milk
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 frozen banana, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon semisweet chocolate chips
  • ½ teaspoon mint extract
  • Green coloring (optional)



Add all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

You may also want to add green food coloring or spinach for a nice minty green color. (You won’t actually taste the spinach but I think adding green psychologically reinforces minty-ness.)
