Our family loves Mexican food and has eaten at Mexican restaurants more than any other type of restaurant. Very frequently, we order the white queso dip to eat with chips before our meal. The biggest problem with it is that they bring a tiny bowl for a group of major cheese dip lovers!
This recipe is a bit flexible. If you like it spicier, add some jalapenos. If it seems too thick, add more cream or milk to thin the dip. It in my limited Spanish, I can tell you that it is delicioso!
Mexican White Queso Dip
Ingredients:
- 1 pound white American cheese
- 2 small cans chopped green chilies, undrained
- 1/2 to 1 cup whipping cream, depending on the thickness you like
- Optional: for more heat, add diced jalapenos
Directions:
Cube cheese.
Put all ingredients into a saucepan or double boiler; melt over very low heat, stirring occasionally until melted and smooth.
Serve with tortilla chips or over Mexican food.

I love that you use American cheese, which in my opinion makes a superiior queso to that made with Velveeta. This looks like the recipe I’ll be making this weekend for my hubby and me.
It has such a unique format!
Yours is my new favorite blog.
I hope you like the queso! So glad you’re enjoying our blog!
Can you use milk instead of the whipping cream?
I haven’t tried it, but think it would work. Just won’t be as rich!

how many servings does this make?
Sorry, but I don’t exactly know. It is a couple of cups worth.
