I like to know what will be for dinner before I go to work in the morning. I try to lay frozen meat out the night before to thaw so that in the morning, I can start the dinner prep. Well, this morning I had planned to put a frozen turkey breast in the crock pot to cook all day. The problem was that it was not thawed well enough, so I needed a new plan! I remembered this recipe that I had saved on my computer. It was not only super easy, but I could even throw frozen chicken in the crock pot. I literally dumped all the ingredients in, turned it to a low setting, and was done! It can’t get easier than that. When I stopped home around lunch time, I turned off the crock pot so that it would not overcook. (I really need a crock pot with timer settings, but I don’t have one yet!). So, it was just that easy and very good!
My son likes the extra spiciness in food, while my daughter likes it milder. Just adjust the red pepper flakes to your tastes. You can use whole chicken breasts or the tenders, but if you use tenders, you’ll need to pay close attention not to over cook and dry out the meat.
Crockpot Barbeque Chicken
- 4-6 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts (I threw them in frozen… even easier!)
- 1 bottle BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 – 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Place chicken breasts in crock pot.
Mix all other ingredients to make sauce.
Pour sauce over it and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
