Cracker Barrel Grilled Chicken Tenders

I can’t think of Cracker Barrel restaurant without thinking of my in-laws.  When we lived in Kentucky, that was always a standard place for us to eat.  There are lots of things that I love on the menu, but just the other day when my husband and I went, I got the grilled chicken tenderloin dinner.  They’re juicy with just a hint of sweetness.  I knew it couldn’t be that hard to duplicate at home, so I did an internet search and found this recipe.

This chicken was super easy and just took no time to prep.  In under 5 minutes I had my chicken marinating in the salad dressing, lime juice & honey.  It takes an hour to marinate and then you’re ready to grill or cook in a skillet on the stove like I did.  I just sprayed a non-stick skillet and started cooking.  They were delicious!

  • 1 pound chicken breast tenders
  • 1/2 cup zesty Italian salad dressing
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1 1/2-2 teaspoons honey


Mix salad dressing, lime juice and honey together.

Pour mixture over chicken tenders, covering well.

Marinate chicken tenders for at least 1 hour.

Braise chicken tenders on grill or in non-stick skillet that has been sprayed with cooking spray.

Cook through until lightly golden.


  • 1 pound chicken breast tenders
  • 1/2 cup Italian Dressing (drain and discard spices)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoon honey


Mix dressing, lime juice and honey together. Pour over chicken tenders, making sure all tenders are covered; marinate for 1 hour. Braise tenders in a non-stick pan or grill to lightly golden in color but not dry.
