Coffee Icing

If you love coffee, you’ll probably love this icing. It’s excellent with these coffee or chocolate flavored cakes!

Coffee Icing


  • 1-1/2 stick butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee crystals
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 pound powdered sugar



Beat the butter until fluffy, about 20 seconds.

Add instant coffee, salt, and cream.

Add powdered sugar one cup at a time, mixing thoroughly.

Decorate cake as desired then chill for an hour before serving, to allow icing to solidify.
